The symtoms may include:Sore or scratchy throatFever / chillsDifficulty in swallowingSwollen lymph glandsLoss of appetiteHead acheJoint pain, body achesCoughSneezingSkin rashesHoarse or muffled voiceFatigue Sore or scratchy throat Fever / chills Difficulty in swallowing Swollen lymph glands Loss of appetite Head ache Joint pain, body aches Cough Sneezing Skin rashes Hoarse or muffled voice Fatigue The causes include: Viral Infections such as common cold, chicken pox, flu Bacterial Infections such as Streptococcus, Diphtheria infections The risk factors include: Age Smoking Allergies such as pollen, dust, pet dander, mold etc Frequent sinus infections Being around an infected person - the person can cause the virus/bacteria to spread by Sneezing or coughing Exposure to certain chemicals Avoid sharing foods, clothes and utensils with the affected person Wash your hands especially after using washroom and before eating food Always use a tissue while coughing and sneezing and throw it away In the absence of soap and water, use alcohol based sanitizer Avoid smoking Try not to stay in the surroundings of an infected person Ear infection Sinusitis Abscess near the tonsils
